Acting Out Mushroom Language- Ali Matthews with Live Wild

Join artist Ali Matthews and foragers Leonie Morris & Sophie Wren for a 2 hour workshop focused on games, skits and learning around mushrooms and trees. This workshop will introduce young people to the weird wonders of the 'third kingdom' of fungi -  (such as how fungi help host trees communicate about danger and send food to their young, how oyster mushrooms lasso nematode worms as a food source, how lichen is actually a partnership between an alga & a fungi) through creative play and interactive games. Nature is hilarious and weird, and we want to encourage kids to engage with ideas around mushrooms, forest ecology and our natural world through joy and play.
