About the event
Renowned folklorist, Jeremy Harte, has collaborated with our director, Holly Elsdon to bring you this exhibition looking at fairy lore. In 1922, 100 years ago, Sherlock Holmes creator, Arthur Conan Doyle published a book: The Coming of the Fairies, in which he welcomed the idea of the reality of the existance of fairies after tow girls had photgraphed them at Cottingley Beck, outside Bradford. But what does the folklore say? Should we be so eager to welcome the coming of the fairies?.... Come and find out....
