Leaping Hare- Tales in the Tiles

Join Leaping Hare on a journey through time to the Medieval Malvern Priory, explore the stories from the Priory's handmade tiles. In this workshop you can create your own story and make your own Malvern tile! All materials will be provided.

Workshop structure- Introduction and short talk about the Malvern Priory, the tiles and tile making. Most importantly to talk about the tiles with stories attached to them through the iconography used. 

Then participants will be invited to create their own story/folklore/myth this may be something entirely newly created or inspired by local folklore/stories you know or from the tales of the tiles, and then use this story to create your own clay tile. The intention being that you will decorate the clay tile with iconography from your personal myth/story as was done with the tiles at Malvern Priory. There will be books and folklorists on hand to guide you if…
