About the event

Welcome to this first event from The Junction, an intersectional feminist discussion group which will begin in earnest in September on Wednesday mornings in the Folklore Centre library.

We will be introducing some of the key ideas that have led us personally to re-engage with feminism as a matter of urgency in contemporary society, starting with how feminism and folklore intersect in the form of storytelling: myths about women and feminism both positive and negative, focussing primarily on anti-feminist conspiracy narratives, and how we might begin to challenge them.
